Clinton Shows She Can Still Win and Obama Shows He Can Still Lose
Hillary Clinton continued to show she can still win big even though the media continues to tell everyone she lost the nomination weeks ago. A 35 point loss once again shows that Obama has a serious problem with the base of the Democratic Party. Any superdelegate that doesn't understand by now that he will likely lose in November should be stripped of their vote, they simply are ignoring reality. The superdelegates have an obligation to pick the most likely winner. If they do anything other than that they are violating their duty to put the Democratic Party first. It's the superdelegates that are suppose to rise above the emotions in this situation and put the winner at the top of the ticket.
I'm still hopeful that when all the votes are counted, especially the blowout Hillary will have in Puerto Rico, a winner will be chosen. If not, then I will have to serious rethink my commitment to a Party that doesn't know how to win and snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
Listen, I'm all for an African American President when this country is ready for it, and when we have the right candidate. This country is not yet ready for an African American President and Barack Obama is not ready for the job. He talks a big game, but let's face it, he's a rookie national politician and we can't afford rookie mistakes right now.
Hope is a good thing. It's always great to dream about great things to come. The problem is when your dreams turn into nightmares. Barack Obama needs to work harder and learn his way around Washington. In a few years, he may very well be President. If he fails to spend a few years learning his trade and the superdelegates don't do their job, Barack Obama's messages of hope will be lost this year. He will lose in November and for the Democrats the nightmare will begin, yet again.

larrysinclair0926.wordpress.com <------ Regardless of what you heard this needs to be investigated! Inaccurate rumors are floating around and I suggest you go hear and read all his answers to the many questions. Its time for Obama to be exposed!
Hillary is winning the popular vote. That's what matters during national election time!
Also,
In short, I believe that Obama is an ELITIST. He is all words, and doesn't seem to feel the trials and tribulations of everyday Americans in his heart and soul, although he portends to do so. And no great Dem president has won who presented himself as anything other than the working person's hope for the future.
As a life-long Democratic party member, I too, cannot bring myself to vote for someone who appears so wooden, makes excuses and justifications for his behavior instead of offering real apologies, and invokes the exact opposite of what he proclaims to stop.
I'm particularly concerned with the hijacking of the Democratic party and the divisions that have resulted based on accusations of "racism" or "ageism" (i.e., you are not young enough to accept the "Change"). The opposite has happened instead, the self-proclaimed “uniter” has caused more fear within his own party instead of lessening it. And the bedrock of the Democratic Party -- working class people -- is being blown off like their votes were never a big deal in the first place. When history has shown that their votes were the ones that turned the tide of elections when it mattered most.
After just watching the biography of FDR on PBS, I am reminded of the greatness of his presidency, and that of JFK's, and (if you are in agreement) that of Bill Clinton's. FDR and JFK both came from privileged backgrounds but did not project that privilege onto the common man/woman. The words they chose were plain and touched the common man/woman deeply. The pains of the people were felt to be his. When they were wounded, he was able to cast their wounds as his own too. Thus, they were able to connect with the common man/woman despite their privileged backgrounds. FDR and JFK proved that you don’t have to be of humble background to connect with the common man/woman. But one does need to project humility to do so.
Although he may be compassionate on ideological level, he projects arrogance and a lack of understanding of the common man/woman. And, he just doesn't seem to truly care if he does really connect with them. Lofty speeches won't do it, it takes something else. Something that FDR and JFK had, and it seems that Hillary might. Obama just doesn't have that touch.
I belive that the Democratic party on its way to committing a suicide. if they elect Obama they might as well kiss this election good bye. I believe there are lots of dems who would rather vote for McCain or stay home than vote for Obama. Obama shows his ignorance with his notion that he can talk unconditionally to the Iranian and venezuelan leaders. Comparing talking to these leaders to talks we had with the soviets is ridiculous and totally off the mark. But even when we talked with the soviet leaders for example we had a lot of work done and conditions met before the meetings between the leaders took place. Obama is demagogue and I cannot understand how people do not see through his flowery and empty language of hope and change.
Sorry democratic party. Nominate Obama and you lose many of us.

Wonderfully put and I couldn't agree more. If my life long political party leaves me then I have no choice other than leave them.
This man is not ready for the office of pres. I personally feel that he is extremely weak as a candidate. The media of this country truly resembles that of a third world country. Everyone on nbc, cnn, and so forth will not report the truth. This man is not being exposed for what he is, I have gone to larry sinclair's website, and fully believe his story, all this info will come out, and when it does, I want all media to report it fairly and accurately, it will be your chance to make up for all of your biases up to this point. Remember, this the United States of America, not Zimbabwe or Kenya.
Get in touch with the Mother Ship. Obama is the nominee. Obama will win in November by a large margin in both popular vote and electoral votes vs McSame, whose Iraq, tax, health care and economic polices are just Bush III and he will inherit only the 23% of the US who thinks Bush is doing a good job. (He'll do better than THAT, of course; with Barr running, Grandpa McCain should have a ceiling of about 45%. Obama will be a good President and will be re-elected in 2012 by an even larger margin. Obama will make HRC his first Supreme Court nomination.
Just read some of the racist posts above. Luckily, the inbred are a small minority in the U.S.
We all should no why those pushing for Obama have been asking for Hillary to drop out of the race. Even some of the so called leaders in congress want her to stop. It isn't because she has lost this thing. It is because she is winning and all the DNC can see is the money new democrats will shower their candidate with in the general. Don't be surprised if even Obama hasn't approached the super delegates and reminded them of his fund raising capabilities and how they will go broke with Hillary. Why? because money always has talked. These democrats figure they can always adjust to Obama and feed him their pet projects as a momma give their children pablum. Can anyone say Cheney and Bush???
Many of the backers of Obama definitely do not want Hillary or Bill anywhere near the oval office. They believe they will have too much power between them. Soros and others definitely want her cut down. Well, all I can say is that Hillary has a chance to show the world that democracy is alive and well and the people in the United States of America have a voice and they want to be heard. That voice is not represented by a bunch of caucus states where a handful of caucus primary voters decided who will represent their state in the primary. Most American's figure that their votes went to Hillary, they did not vote for some delegate.
Hillary will win this primary because the people of this great nation will decide. If the rules committee decides to play around with the will of the American people and give them a we know what's best kick in the ass. Well, democratic party, so long. I can't say it hasn't been fun, cause it hasn't.
If your argument boils down to the fact that Obama has a serious problem with "the base of the Democratic Party", then what about the fact that Hillary is only getting around 10% of the African-American vote?
And 'rookie mistakes'? Would rookie mistakes include ignoring the caucus states and having no plan for anything after Super Tuesday? Would rookie mistakes include a chief strategist that wrongly assumed that the Democrats awarded delegates in a winner-take-all system?
Hillary may have some legitimate points but you don't do yourself or the party any favors by ignoring the equally legitimate arguments that Obama and his supporters are putting forward.
I sent an email to the DNC just this morning informing them that they no longer had to try so hard to force me out of the Party. I will leave immediately. As a lifelong Democrat, it is a hard pill to swallow to be thrown away so easily. But I will not go quietly. A McCain presidency doesn't scare me no matter how often my fellow Party members try to use the Rovian tactics of fearmongering. It will be 4 years of gridlock with a Democratic Congress. Maybe my beloved Party will have awakened to the fact that many of us will not be force-fed the far-left elitist's policies by 2012.
I made my first contribution to John McCain as soon as I sent the email to the DNC. As my Party can plainly see, I won't "come around" or "get in line"
Who is this Larry Sinclair guy I keep hearing about?
First let me say - as a white working class member of PA, I am not the hillbilly that Obama portrays us as. Also, I am not inbred as Dolph T has said above. If you would like to win over the white working class members, then maybe instead of insulting us, maybe try courting us? Because we are kind of important in November... (remember we represent a much larger portion of the country than anyone else, and we are the ones that deliver swing states such as PA, OH, WV, MI)
Also, to Tim O.: I personally believe that many African Americans are voting for Obama because he is an African American that has the first real shot at being president. I understand why that could be important to them. At the same time, you don't see 90% of women voting for Hillary because she could be the first women with a real shot at the presidency. So I think there is some racism against Hillary because some (I did not say all) African Americans are voting for Obama just because of color. I also think that every vote is important and matters. However, we need to court all voters. Obama has blown off many voters especially in WV and KY. And his comments about "clinging to guns", etc. has further distanced himself from many working class people of PA and OH and others across the nation. To put in perspective, white working class voters represent a much larger portion of this country than African Americans. Every vote counts and matters, but majority still wins. So we need to nominate a candidate who will win the majority. I fear Obama cannot do it. Maybe if he puts Hillary as VP he will gain her coalition which will take him to the white house. If he does put her at VP, his presidency is going to be 1/2 his and 1/2 the clinton's, so maybe not what he wants - but I believe that they can put the country back on track. Maybe Bill and Hillary can talk Obama out of making huge mistakes when dealing with terrorists, visiting countries without conditions, etc. Bring some experience to the ticket that is desperately needed.
Hillary is dead meat; she's cooked her goose. The lying, manipulative, pathetic whiner is staying in to damage Obama at any cost. She doesn't care about her party or America. It's only about Hillary and always has been. I pity those who are too blind to see through her propaganda. Her supporters are easy targets since her ploys aren't even that clever. Those who support her are the type of people who would believe anything, the easy victims of scam artists.
And Hillary is one scam artist;she even believes her own lies. I"m over 60,the age of the old ladies who form Hillary's base. And I would move to Canada before I would vote for monster Hillary.
For some reason, over 60 female, I have this feeling you are lying. Most "old ladies" don't call themselves old ladies and aren't as sniping and as insulting as yourself.
The Democrats claim to treasure "the vote". "Make every vote count" etc. Arkansas voters opted for Hillary in their primary. So, who did Governor Richardson back as a superdelegate? Obama, of course. Massachusets opted for Hillary, so who did the Mass Senators back? Obama, of course. West Virginia overwhelmingly supported Hillary in their primary, so who did Byrd, the senior senator back. Obama, of course. Yeh, the voice of the people is certainly sacred to these people.
Obama is a fraud, he has finally been vetted and everyone is wondering what happened??
If the primaries started today Obama would be in Illinois helping Rezco with his trial.
He has lied about everything from Rev. Wright to Rezco, plagiarizm, his lies in his books, how many times have you heard him say..." what i meant to say was"...Larry sinclair is being suppressed because of the media and George Soros power.
Mr. obama is a racist , corrupted politician. Read Evelyn Pringle's Boardroom games. Obama is neck deep in this Rezko meas. Typical Chicago cesspool corruptuion. Plus throw in Middle Eastern oil money, drugs, kick-backs...Witness Levine and the Purple Room..These were Bo's buds for over 12 years...those drug parties, involved all male buddies, all night, Special K, Crack-meth, Cocaine...uhmmmmwonder who else attended those parties? Larry Sinclair's story makes alot more sense, drugs, smoking dat crack-pipe..gay sex, murdr-Donald Young-Obama
hey Tim O...You asked "what about the fact that Hillary only gets about 10% of the black vote?" I say, that's racism...it's proof that it's more blatent in Obama's support, than Hillary's!
over 60 - I will pay for your ticket to Canada - one way.
What about BHO - think that he is pure as the driven snow - ya sure - he is from the South Side of Chitown.. and is a real "Slick Willy" smmmmooooth one
jeleanoro,
I would dispute that people are voting for him for racist reasons but that would be a pointless argument -- who cares why people are voting for him OR Hillary?
The fact remains that it's completely one-sided to advocate for Hillary because she "does better with the base" while ignoring the fact that she's only getting 10% of the black vote.
The fact remains that for all this concern about Obama's "inexperience", Hillary ran a lousy campaign and at the end of the day she can't really blame anyone but herself for that.
No one in the Obama campaign or the media forced her to ignore the caucus states. No one prevented her from planning for a long primary season. No one prevented her from building the same ground operation that gave Obama 10 victories in a row.
It seems to me that she didn't take Obama (or for that matter, Edwards, Richardson, Biden, etc., etc.) seriously enough to invest the effort at the outset. How can you blame anyone but her for that mistake?
Had she run a better campaign and planned for the long-haul it's probable that she would have the lead right now. In that scenario we'd be debating whether or not Obama should get the veep slot and planning for the campaign against McCain.
I have a lot of respect for HRC and I voted for her both times for Senate, but if she can't run a primary campaign competently why should we expect that she'll run her general election campaign any better? What about the rookie mistakes that she's made?
Harry,
I do think we need to court all voters. The sooner we unite the party the sooner we can start going about that.
The only thing that I'm advocating for is an open dialog between Hillary and Obama supporters. With that in mind I'm going to try and give you the viewpoint of an Obama supporter. We are anywhere from 47.5% to 49% of the votes that were cast and should matter as much as the 47.5% to 48% of those that voted for Hillary. (numbers taken from various RealClearPolitics calculations of the popular vote)
You say that he ignored WV and KT -- what about all of the states (particularly caucus states) that Hillary ignored? What about all of those states that she dismissed because "Democrats can't win there"?
His comments about "clinging to guns" were stupid. I won't even try to argue that with you. But if it wasn't one thing it'd be another -- I could dig up a few foolish remarks uttered by Hillary in her career, but what's the point?
Some African Americans are voting for Obama because of his skin color? No doubt. Just as I'm sure that some women are voting for Hillary just because of her gender. Personally I wouldn't base my vote on either of those factors but it's not up to either of us to tell others how to decide to vote. I only pointed out Hillary's numbers with African-Americans because I felt that it's unfair to say that she does better with the base -- she does better with PART of the base. Obama does better with PART of the base. However you count the votes the margin between them is less than 1.6%
Regarding the "majority": The majority doesn't win. The person who gets 270 electoral college votes wins. From where I sit Obama has at least as plausible of a path to the White House as Hillary does. It may not look like the Gore/Kerry map -- but then that map didn't exactly lead us to victory, did it?
I think he needs some experience on the ticket too but I don't think that should be Hillary. People tend to forget just how effective the Republicans are at mobilizing people against the Clintons. I saw it here in New York during both of her Senate runs -- Lazio's whole platform basically consisted of "I'm not Hillary". That won't win elections in New York -- but it could tip a tight race in PA, OH, WV, IA , WI or MO.
For what it's worth I think she'd make a great White House Chief of Staff for Obama, though I doubt he'd be inclined to offer her the job. That would be his loss, IMHO. That said, I honestly don't know who I'd pick for his VP. I have dreams of unity tickets in my head (Colin Powell anyone?) but I don't think we are likely to see that happen this time around. More's the pity.
seattleguy, save your money for the one-way ticket to Canada. You'll need it to buy your own ticket to Canada if Hillary is elected president.
And Harry, get a life. You don't know anything about old ladies. They are not all milquetoast, passive
followers. This old lady is not a liar, just smarter than those who worship at the altar of Hillary.
