Predictions in Indiana and North Carolina

hillary_8.jpgFor one thing, irregardless of Tuesday's results the battle for the nomination will continue between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Does anyone doubt that?  After reading blogs, polls and listening to the talking heads on CNN and elsewhere here are my predictions for Indiana and North Carolina.

In Indiana, expect Hillary Clinton to win by nearly the same margin that she won in Pennslyvania, that is 10%.  Exit polling will show that  things continue to remain the same along racial lines, most whites will side with Hillary and over 90% of African Americans will side with Barack.  The difference will be the United States Supreme Court's recent decision dealing with the legality of allowing polling places to ask voters for identification.  This will affect the African American vote much more than anyone realizes.  Indiana will also show the Nation that any decrease in the price of gas is a good thing!  Barack Obama is really out of touch on this issue.  (Most people take the train in Chicago don't they?)  He doesn't get it.  People expect and want change fast, even if its just a few cents on the dollar.  A good win for Hillary Clinton, but nothing unexpected.

North Carolina is where the big news will be made.  Hillary Clinton will make it a photo finish and the results won't be known into the early morning hours.  I expect Clinton to win almost all of the undecided votes and make this much closer then anyone anticipated.  The key here is whether those Republican ads linking their local candidates to Obama and Wright actually work.  I suspect they will and the Superdelegates will have real objective proof that the Republicans have a successful game plan should Obama win the nomination.  If you thought Obama looked sad at his Reverend Wright press conference last week, wait to you see him on Wednesday.   Clinton by a nose.
